Pace of Play – League Nights

In an effort to ensure games are completed in a timely fashion, NCCC uses a time clock. The clock should be started at the beginning of each draw by a member of the teams playing on Ice 2.  The clock should be started at exactly 6:15 pm on nights that have a late draw and 6:30 pm on nights with no late draw.  If you are not ready, then you will lose time.  Likewise, if you are ready to play before start times, you may start and you will have additional time.

Early draw – 6:15 to 8:15 pm or 6:30 to 8:30 the clock will now start counting down from 95 minutes and the buzzer will sound at 0 letting you know that you have time to finish your current end and have time to play one more.

Late draw – 8:30 to 10:30 pm the clock will now start counting down from 95 minutes and the buzzer will sound at 0 letting you know that you have time to finish your current end, and have time to play one more.

Important Tips for Timely Play

– Lead should be in the hack ready to throw at or before 6:15, 6:30 and 8:30 pm.

– After rock is released, next player should immediately take rock and move into hack.

– At end completion, first lead should take rock and move into hack ready to throw. Other players remove rocks from house. Do not spend time lining up rocks in number order.

– Place your skip’s rock in front of the hack to help speed up the game.
