Club Closure* (Part 15 of the NCCC Policy Manual)
For various reasons, such as weather, power outage or equipment failure, Club activities will occasionally be cancelled.
In the case of morning Drop-Iin curling, scheduled league play and ad hoc curling such as Sturling, Mixed Doubles, Adult Learn to curl and Funspiels, a decision to cancel will be made a minimum of two (2) hours in advance of the schedule start time.
The decision to cancel will be made between the applicable Coordinator and the Ice and Plant Chairperson. If for some reason they cannot agree on the decision, the Board Chairperson will be contacted and provided with the reason(s) why a decision was not agreed. After an explanation, the Board Chairperson will make the final decision.
Once a decision is made to cancel scheduled curling, the applicable Coordinator will immediately send an email to curlinginfonccc@gmail.com for communication to the Membership by the PIEM Committee Email Coordinator. This will trigger a message to the Club’s Facebook page as well.
If school is cancelled for any reason, all events involving school kids will also be cancelled on that specific day.
Kids events that are scheduled on the weekends, such as “Little Rock’s” will be cancelled at a minimum of two hours in advance of scheduled start time. This will be a decision made by the Coordinator of such events and the Coordinator will notify the affected parents by email.
Cancellation of non-curling related events will be the responsibility of the person(s) designated as the Organizer of those events. Notification of such cancellations will be communicated as appropriate to notify those affected.
In any case, if events are not cancelled it is always at the Member’s discretion if they determine that the weather in their area is not safe to travel.
